24 hours of CE every 2-year renewal period (for licenses in effect 19-24 months). 3 hours must be in ethics. Producers age 65+ with 25+ continuous years of licensure are exempt from CE (effective April 17, 2023). A one-time 1-hour CE course is required before selling pet insurance.
Regulatory Board
Unique to Mississippi: Mississippi has different passing scores for different exam types - Life and Health require only 65% while Property and Casualty require 70%. The state also eliminated the Life pre-licensing education requirement in 2024, making it easier to get a Life-only license. The application fee is called a 'privilege tax.'
