To get a Connecticut real estate license in 2026, you must complete 60 hours of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection-approved pre-licensing education, pass a background check, take and pass the PSI licensing exam, and find a sponsoring broker. May 31 of even-numbered years. CE completion deadline: February 28 (90 days before expiration). Current cycle: March 1, 2024 – February 28, 2026.
First Renewal Notes
Licensees who passed a CT licensing exam between March 1, 2024 – February 28, 2026 owe NO CE for the current cycle. Those reinstating or receiving reciprocity licenses on/after January 1, 2026 are also exempt.
Late CE penalties formalized by PA 23-84: $315 within 2 months, $625 for 2–4 months late. Inactive salespersons are NOT eligible to renew — must have sponsoring broker first.
