PT Compact Details
Nevada is an active member of the PT Compact, issuing and accepting compact privileges.
Endorsement Requirements
The Physical Therapy Compact allows licensed PTs and PTAs to practice in other compact member states without obtaining additional licenses. Non-compact states require license by endorsement, which typically involves verifying credentials, passing the NPTE, and submitting additional documentation.
Nevada requires 150 hours of dry needling education, one of the highest training thresholds in the nation, and uniquely prohibits delegation of dry needling to PTAs, students, or technicians. Additionally, the state mandates a diversity, equity, inclusion, or social justice course at each annual renewal.
Nevada requires the Nevada Jurisprudence Exam for initial licensure and at each annual renewal beginning January 1, 2025.
Dry needling is permitted with 150 hours of didactic education and training, including 25 hours of in-person postgraduate instruction; dry needling may not be delegated to PTAs.
Newly licensed PTAs must be supervised on-site for their first 2,000 hours of work.
PTA supervision ratio is 1:3 (one PT may supervise up to 3 PTAs).
Nevada is a PT Compact member state.
Annual renewal requires 15 CCUs including a mandatory diversity, equity, inclusion, or social justice course.
