To get a Nevada real estate license in 2026, you must complete 120 hours of Nevada Real Estate Division-approved pre-licensing education, pass a background check, take and pass the Pearson VUE licensing exam, and find a sponsoring broker. Most applicants finish in 8–16 weeks and spend $454–$805 including course tuition.

Retake Policy
Unlimited retakes within 12 months of first attempt. $100 per attempt. Only failed section needs retaking. Diagnostic report provided on failure.
Higher 75% passing threshold on both sections. 10–15 unscored pretest items. Test centers in Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno. As of July 29, 2025: must register and pay ($100) through NRED website FIRST, then receive Pearson VUE Authorization to Test email (2–3 business days) before scheduling.

First Renewal Notes
Must complete 30-hour post-licensing course (live classroom only) within first year. Out-of-state licensees who held a license at time of NV application may be exempt from post-licensing; they complete 36 hrs standard CE instead. Reduced CE (12 hrs) available for licensees age 65+ with 30+ years licensed.
Nevada requires significant live instruction (18 of 36 hrs). Post-licensing is classroom-only — cannot be completed online.
