The Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact (OT Compact) allows OTAs to practice across member states with a compact privilege. Non-compact states may accept out-of-state credentials through endorsement or require a full application.
Ohio requires a state-specific Jurisprudence Exam with a 90% passing score in addition to the NBCOT exam. Ohio was among the first three states (with Minnesota and West Virginia) to go live with the OT Licensure Compact on January 12, 2026. The OTPTAT Board oversees OT, PT, and athletic training together. CE requirements include mandatory hours in mental health and addiction topics.
Ohio requires a Jurisprudence Exam with a passing score of 90% prior to licensure.
