Louisiana established geoscientist licensing in 2010 via Act 974 (Louisiana Professional Geoscience Practice Act). The LBOPG became an ASBOG member state. Oil, gas, and mineral exploration work is exempt from licensing requirements. Application fee: $250. Annual renewal: $150 ($100 for licensees aged 60+).
