Idaho uses a two-tier system where LPC requires only 1,000 supervised hours (among the lowest nationally) and LCPC requires a total of 3,000 hours. LCPC applicants must pass both the NCE and NCMHCE. Idaho uses annual renewal rather than biennial, requiring 20 CE hours per year. The state also has a unique suicide prevention CE requirement of at least 2 hours once every 6 years.
