State membership data verified against official compact website and state licensing board records. Last updated: March 2026.
Under the eNLC, nurses who meet uniform licensing requirements can practice in person or via telehealth in any compact member state using their home state multistate license. The nurse must declare a primary state of residence, and the license is issued by that state. If the nurse moves to a new compact state, they must obtain a new license from that state within a set timeframe. The compact privilege is not a separate license — it is a feature of the multistate license.
For the most current requirements, visit the official eNLC website.
These 10 jurisdictions are not currently members of the Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Professionals must obtain a separate license to practice in these states.
