To get a New Jersey real estate license in 2026, you must complete 75 hours of New Jersey Real Estate Commission-approved pre-licensing education, pass a background check, take and pass the PSI licensing exam, and find a sponsoring broker. First Renewal Notes
Licensees who obtain their license in the second year of a renewal term are exempt from CE requirements for that renewal term.
NJ is a 'turf state' — out-of-state licensees cannot practice in NJ without a NJ license.
