Idaho does NOT have a Master Plumber license — the progression is Apprentice → Journeyman → Contractor. The journeyman exam includes a practical component (work on a job in progress), which is unusual among states. Idaho uses the UPC (not IPC) and the governing agency was renamed from Division of Building Safety to DOPL. Two paths to journeyman exist: 8,000 hrs + 576 classroom hours, or 16,000 hrs without classroom. Apprentice minimum age is 16.
