Florida accepts out-of-state cna credentials
Florida accepts out-of-state CNAs through the MOBILE Act if applicants have active certification, at least 3 years of CNA employment in the past 4 years, and no disciplinary actions
These are the standard licensing steps in Florida. As a licensed cna from Georgia, you may already satisfy some of these requirements.
Complete a FBON-approved CNA training program (minimum 120 hours: 80 classroom/lab + 40 clinical)
Submit application to Prometric and pay $155 exam fee
Schedule electronic fingerprinting with an FDLE-approved Livescan provider for Level 2 background screening
Board reviews application within 30 days and sends electronic statement of eligibility to Prometric
Pass both the knowledge test (60 questions, 90 minutes) and clinical skills evaluation (5 tasks, 31-40 minutes)
Upon passing and background clearance, be placed on the Florida Nurse Aide Registry
Renew every 2 years by May 31 with 24 hours of in-service training and $55 renewal fee
Timeline varies based on your credentials, reciprocity eligibility, and Florida's current processing times. Contact the state licensing board for current estimates.
