Unique to Wyoming
Wyoming does NOT issue a Licensed Residential credential — only three permit tiers exist (Certified Appraiser Trainee, Certified Residential, Certified General) per W.S. 33-39-105. Wyoming uses 'Permit' terminology rather than 'License' per statute. Wyoming uniquely removed the $400 trainee fee per 2014 rule amendment ARR14-075. Wyoming Valuation Bias compliance deadline is 12/31/2027 (later than the typical 2026 implementation in other states). Trainees do not need to provide CE for renewal. The Wyoming Certified Real Estate Appraiser Board operates under the Department of Administration and Information (A&I), an unusual administrative placement.
